The country's pharmaceutical market is set to witness continued strong growth at a more favourable rate than its global peers.

India's pharmaceutical market is expected to grow in the double digits, a rate which is more favorable than most other markets for the industry. It can be viewed that even if the country's GDP growth were to slow down, it would still represent a better growth opportunity than its global peers.

The reason for such optimism can be subjected to improving socio-economic conditions, characterized by good geographic diversity, healthier growth outlooks, more conservative financial policies and access to healthcare against the backdrop of a rising prevalence of diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems.

As consolidation in the industry continues globally, particularly among generic drug companies, Indian firms will increasingly look to become involved in global mergers and acquisitions which might turn transformative for the organizations.

India's top internet companies partnering with each other to reach out to a larger customer base

In the battle for supremacy, internet companies in India are turning to the most unlikely of allies — each other — as they look to become leaders in one of the most competitive consumer markets globally.

Flipkart, Uber, RedBus and OLX are just some of the top internet companies that have joined hands to assist each other to leverage their strengths and attract more consumers to their platforms.

Industry experts believe that such tie-ups will be par for the course going forward for the internet companies in India. These organizations look to partner with companies people identifies with, and where they can offer an end-to-end consumer experience.

While Uber has partnered with multinational financial services behemoth American Express in India, Goibibo has tied up with insurance company Bajaj Allianz as well as a number of restaurant chains, such as Papa John's and Subway.

IT companies increasingly focus on re-skilling as shift to digital solutions gathers steam

As Indian IT providers appear to gain a greater share of their business from newer digital technologies, they are undergoing immense re-training and skilling process to equip people to build solutions around social media, mobility, analytics and cloud deployments.

There is an urgent need to re-skill and retain the employees in the industry, for which the software is being built by smaller teams, in short cycles, so team members have to know more about a range of technologies. The new projects are looking at combinations of all the technologies for which the employees need to be made the masters to overcome the problem of skill shortage.

Because the implications of the jobs are much higher the training has become more business-centric. The training includes security considerations, usability, performance, integration and compatibility requirements and accessibility.
